  Agent Provocateur

  

  Agent Provocateur is a luxury lingerie line established in the UK in 1994 by Joseph Corre and Serena Rees.
  "Rees and Corré introduced their vision of lingerie avoiding the British prudery that insists on categorising anything to do with sex as sleazy or smutty. The aim was to create an availability of high quality designer lingerie with creative flair to stimulate, enchant and arouse both wearers and their partners."

  The signuture fragrance by the same name was launched in August 2000.

  Anna Sui is an American fashion designer of Chinese origins. The first boutique Anna Sui opened in Soho in 1992. Her first fragrance, created in cooperation with Wella, was named after her and it was launched in 1999.

  Aramis

  

  Aramis was a pioneer in the men's prestige grooming products and fragrance market. The brand was launched in 1964 by Estee Lauder Companies, it was named for a character in Alexandre Dumas' beloved classic "The Three Musketeers." The original Aramis fragrance made a splash upon first introduction and continues to attract new devotees with each generation.

  The scent is a classic masculine mix of woody and spicy notes that fans say never goes out of style. For many men of a certain age, Aramis was the first after-shave or men's toiletry they used. The original after-shave is still available and the fragrance is offered in Eau de Toilette, shaving soap and body wash.

  Aramis is also a brand that produces other fragrances for both men and women, and is the parent company of Tommy Hilfiger fragrances. Notable offerings besides the original scent include New West for her, introduced in 1990, and classic men's fragrance Havana, first introduced in 1994.

  Azzaro

  

  The Azzaro brand was created in the image of its founder, Loris Azzaro. A Tunisian-born Sicilian who embodied the essence of Mediterranean luxury—tanned, sensual, hedonistic—the designer quickly established a reputation in the late 1960s with his glamorous and sexy fashions. The brand expanded its offering to include fragrances, introducing Azzaro for Women in 1975, to be followed soon by the modern classic Azzaro pour Homme in 1978. From its inception, and continuing through its newest releases under current artistic director Vanessa Seward, Azzaro embodies a chic and jet-setting lifestyle synonymous with present-day luxury.

  Before the namesake fragrance, Chloé ruled the fashion runways with ultra-modern, feminine fashions that set the trends in 1950s Paris.   Fendi

  

  Italian fashion house Fendi was founded by Adele Casagrande in 1918. A marriage to Edoardo Fendi led to a name change and the establishment of the company known today as Fendi, in 1925.

  The house began as a boutique in Rome that specialized in leather and furs. The business did well and boutiques outside Rome were opened in the 1930s and 1940s. In 1946, the daughters of Adele and Edoardo joined the family business and brought fresh ideas for the products. The daughters also met an up-and-coming designer in Paris who would join the company and take it in exciting new directions: Karl Lagerfeld.

  Lagerfeld began working with Fendi in 1965 and produced the house's first ready-to-wear fur collection in 1969. The line featured modern shapes and innovative techniques with fur and leather. Lagerfeld also designed the company's signature "Double F" logo which is still in use today.

  Fendi is most noted for their bags, chief among them the "baguette" style, but the company moved into ready-to-wear lines in 1977. The fashion lines expanded in the 1980s and 1990s to eventually include menswear, denim, gifts, eyeglasses and fragrances.

  The first Fendi fragrance, Fendi for Women, was launched in 1985. Fendi Uomo arrived in 1988. A series of fragrances were launched throughout the 1990s and 21st century, with Fan di Fendi the newest fragrance in the line.

  Fendi fashions and fragrances are produced in conjunction with luxury-goods conglomerate LVMH.

  Ferrari

  

  In 1999 Ferrari made their first steps into a completely new direction by launching the brand's first perfume, Ferrari Black. The oriental composition with sweet notes has been a commercial success since it had hit the shelves. While their cars are financially out of reach for most people, the fragrance gives the wearer the feeling of owning a piece of merchandise from a world-famous and exclusive luxury brand. In order to bring a piece of Ferrari to more and more homes, the brand soon launched their second fragrance, another one for men, in 2001. The name of the woody and mossy scent is Ferrari No. 1. In 2003 a new scent composed of elegant notes around an intense patchouli with the well thought-out name of Ferrari Racing was launched.

  2005 saw the presentation of another men's fragrance called Passion. The bottle and the outer carton were coloured in the well-know Ferrari-red. A limited edition with the name Unlimited was launched the same year. The sweet, spicy and aromatic composition of Ferrari Extreme hit the shelves in 2006.

  As previous limited edition have proven successful, the men's fragrance Ferrari Light Essence, the first one housed in a bottle that is neither red nor black, was released to the market in a blue bottle with a blue outer carton in 2007. In the beginning of 2009 Ferrari launched the supercar Scuderia Spider M16 and the woody, spicy and aromatic fragrance Ferrari Uomo. The presentation of the fragrance Scuderia Ferrari took place in 2010 - the same year that the new car model 458 was unveiled to the world.

  While Ferrari cars are only available to the rich, the fragrances are reasonably priced and have gained a large fan-base.

  Ghost

  

  Ghost is a UK-based fashion label created by Tanya Sarne and Katherine Hamnett in 1985. Sarne has no training as a designer but previously worked as a model and had an intuitive sense about fashion and the way clothing should fit women's bodies. The company name is variously described as referring to the actual designers who would "ghost-write" the collection behind the scenes, and also to the company's prospects in the fashion business, described by many as a "ghost of a chance" at success.

  The company is known for its flow-y, feminine dresses that flattered all body types, as well as its unique use of the fabric viscose, a fabric made from wood or cotton fibers, which the Ghost house designed and pre-treated in a special way that rendered the fabric ethereal, breathable, wrinkle-free and with a luxurious crepe-like appearance.

  The company went on to be a multi-million pound success in the UK, with their own boutiques and sales through select retail outlets such as Harvey Nichols, Selfridges and Liberty. The Ghost fashion line was a favorite with celebrities and real women everywhere who embraced its comfort, generous sizing and flattering cuts.

  Perfumes were a valued piece of the Ghost product offering, with the launch of the first scent, Ghost Perfume, in 1995. A series of Ghost fragrances for men and women have since been introduced, in collaboration with Procter & Gamble.

  Issey Miyake

  

  Issey Miyake is a Japanese fashion designer known for his innovations with fabric and his use of technology to produce interesting and practical garments.

  Miyake was born in Hiroshima in 1938, and was a witness and survivor of the atomic bombing of the city during World War II. After studying graphic design at Tama Art University in Tokyo, Mikyake went on to work for some of the most famous couturiers of the 1960s. A move to Paris led to work for Guy Laroche and Givenchy. Another move to New York brought the opportunity to design ready-to-wear for Geoffrey Beene. Miyake returned to Tokyo in 1970, founded the Miyake Design Studio and began producing women's fashions.

  Miyake's extensive knowledge of fabrics led to an innovation in garment pleating that uses a heat press to add permanent pleats to garments that were already cut and sewn. Other innovative fashions from Miyake include A-POC (acronym for "a piece of clothing") which are tubes of fabric that can be cut into a variety of shapes and styles by the purchaser, and the me Issey Miyake line (also known as "Cauliflower" outside the Asian market), a line of one-size-fits-all shirts that stretch to fit the wearer and are sold in plastic tubes.

  Miyake officially retired from design in 1997 but continues to oversee all the lines in the company.

  Miyake's fashions and perfumes reflect a sense of humor and make use of multi-lingual puns. A-POC, for example, sounds like the English word "Epoch." When Miyake launched his first perfume, L'eau d'Issey for women in 1992, the name is a homonym for the French word l'Odyssée ("odyssey" in English). A Scent by Issey Miyake, launched in 2009, could be read as "ascent by Issey Miyake." Miyake also maintains a store in Japan called ELLTOB TEP ("pet bottle" spelled backwards) which sells his entire line.

  Issey Miyake fragrances are offered in conjunction with Beauté Prestige International, a division of Shiseido.

  Jean Paul Gaultier

  

  French fashion designer whose first collection was presented in 1976. The first perfume of the Gaultier house was launched in 1993; it was the famous Jean Paul Gaultier edp for women, whose name was subsequently changed into Classique. Classique was followed by Le Male in 1995, and fragile in 1999. All of them were known by peculiar package and unusual composition.

  The first Viktor & Rolf fragrance, Flowerbomb, was introduced in 2004, to coincide with a women's Spring/Summer 2005 fashion collection also called "Flowerbomb." Viktor and Rolf chose the name and designed the fragrance's distinctive "hand grenade" bottle and gift-wrap packaging.
