If Chanel has decided to highlight the city of Biarritz in its new perfume, it is simply because it is here that it was born its first fashion boutique, just after the creation of its hat shop in Paris in 1910. When Gabrielle Chanel arrived in Biarritz, she was already famous and was considered a national figure of women’s emancipation. She was attracted by Biarritz for her social life, evenings at the Hotel du Palais, and proximity to the sea. She saw a unique way to let her femininity and new freedom flourish in this place.
